Atmosphere

As I breathe in and out the fresh air of outside,

As I raise my eyes to gaze at the sky above all,

As the glowing Sun brings forth the shows of bright light,

I wonder how the atmosphere is everything’s core.

Merely a mixture of gases, our Earth’s invisible fur,

Since the dawn of humanity, it has kept populations amazed:

How can so many shifts of colour and beauty occur

In just a clear and thin layer, no more than glaze?

A perfect soup of elements by pure luck near the Moon,

This sphere of air gives breath to all living things.

The climbing and falling of pressures, unseeable dunes,

Call down the Anemoi, the all-powerful winds

Winds, sons of the open, some wild, others tamed,

They rotate strong cotton sails along numerous orbs,

Either turning human mechanisms by pushing long vanes

Or blowing ships and waves around the world’s globe

The atmospheric forces steer water with incredible rigour

And slowly swirl it in its everlasting cyclical motion

The floating drops create clouds, the earth’s mirror:

White islands and landmasses in a blue infinite ocean
